Beyond Sex: Nevada Courtesan Deena Velora on Dating, Intimacy & Confidence
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Nevada courtesan Deena Velora joins The Happening Next Door for a candid conversation about what really brings men through the doors of a legal brothel. From successful businessmen struggling to approach women to clients dealing with performance anxiety, loneliness, and a lack of confidence, Deena explains why her work often becomes less about sex and more about listening, connection, and helping men become more comfortable with intimacy.
Deena also shares her unconventional journey from a Midwest upbringing to New York City, where she once found herself sleeping in subways before an unexpected introduction to dating wealthy businessmen changed her path. She opens up about working at the Bunny Ranch and Alien Cathouse, why she takes a more conservative approach than many in the industry, her own frustrating experience with modern dating apps, and how those experiences inspired the Velora Method, her approach to helping men navigate dating, women, and confidence.

Meeting Deena Velora
Nosy Neighbor. My guest this episode is a courtesan working at the Alien Cat House in Nevada. Her name Deena Velora. Deena, thank you for joining us today.
Deena VeloraThank you.
Nosy Neighbor.Tell us a little bit about yourself, your upbringing, and just a little bit of your backstory.
Deena VeloraSo I grew up in the Midwest, which is a wonderful place to grow up because you're so far removed from so much of the craziness of like the big cities. So we had in the Midwest, you have like dairy farms and car factories. So it was a nice upbringing, very normal, very uneventful. I just I was in school and I played sports, and that was the end of that. I moved to New York sometime after moving out of my parents' house. So I was I want to say like 19 or 20 when I moved to New York. And I spent all of my 20 years in New York. And that was actually very interesting. I was completely unprepared for that in a lot of ways. And um now I live in California.
Midwest Roots And Coastal Moves
Nosy Neighbor.Wow, coast to coast. And what brought you to California?
Deena VeloraWell, I wanted something a little slower, you know, like slower paced and cleaner. You know, New York had just been so crazy for so many years. And every day. I mean, you can't have an off day in New York City. I just wanted to have some downtime and finish school as well. That was really big for me at that time, maybe three years ago. So I thought, why not California? Everyone is nice and it's clean and the schools, they have really good schools. So I I didn't really think too hard about it. I just sort of showed up and started.
From Fashion Work To Courtesan
Nosy Neighbor. What brought you to being becoming a courtesan then?
Deena VeloraWell, I had been at Bunny. I did two tours at Bunny while I was in New York. I believe it was 2019. And at that time, the reason was that I came across an article of Alice Little. Um, I was working in fashion at the time for magazines and such, and she had done an article in a fashion magazine about her work. I think it was Refiner 29, I want to say. It's hard to remember, but um and I reached out to her, how is it working at Bunny? And she had such good things to say that I just applied and I was accepted right away. So that's how that happened, and then and then I got busy after my second tour for like a good seven years, but I always planned to come back, and when I did, girls I knew were telling me to try different houses because you don't know which one you're gonna like best or where you're gonna have the best fit. So I tried Alien.
Nosy Neighbor. And for those that don't know, what a lot of the girls do is they'll do they'll sign up for like a bulk window where they come in for a week or two, and then they they they do their they basically you're renting a room there to to work out of, and then after their two weeks is up, they go about their their daily lives. Some stay there longer, others will go for two weeks, they might leave for a month or two and then come back. I know Alice. We've had her on the show and she'll do her window and then she'll go back. Many people read articles in their life. What was it about reading about Alice Little that just made you say, hey, that sounds fun to me? I mean, a lot of people might read that article and not think, hey, I'm gonna call her and become a courtesan. What was it about the article in your own background that said this is something that I wanted to try?
Deena VeloraYeah, that's such a good question. And I wish I could go back and look at all of her articles from 2019 and determine which one it was exactly. Man, what was so convincing about
Survival Dating In New York
Deena Velorait? I would say initially what first comes to mind is that it was already so similar to what I was doing at the time in New York because when I first got there around 20 years old, I I showed up with a luggage and like $275, I want to say, in cash. That's what I showed up to New York City with. And I thought that was enough, right, to like last me a while. And instead I was like sleeping in the subway and and things like that pretty early on when I got there. But these businessmen would approach me and they'd give me their business card. I thought they were trying to network, I guess. I was naive at the time, so I thought they were trying to network, but I couldn't understand why they'd want to network with me. Like a guy from Goldman Sachs. What does he want with a girl like me, you know, who knows nothing, she's new to the city. And eventually it clicked that he wanted to take me out, but I had like a stack of business cards because this would happen all the time, like almost daily. So as I'm starving and sleeping in the subways, I start calling these businessmen. I'm like looking at the cards finally, shuffling through and like deciding who I'm gonna call. And when I show up to these first dates in New York City, I mean it's a city like no other because they'll show up with a fur coat, they'll give you cab money, and the cab money is like thousands of dollars, like a stack of hundred dollar bills, you know, for the cab. And my cab home was like $30. So even this, I'm like trying to understand like what even is this? What I understood about it is that if I go on these dates, I can pay rent and I can have food to eat, and and then I'll walk away with a fur coat and maybe a Louis Vuitton bag, even. And these these guys were so rich that they didn't expect sex on the first date. So it didn't feel wrong to me to receive in this way. And then looking at Alice Little, she actually made it a business and was open about it. And I just thought that was kind of interesting. Like, oh, all of these girls are just here, like, and it's a business, and they have registered businesses and they're receiving, like, kind of like how I am, but at a much faster rate, and they have a system. So I I just wanted to see that in person, I guess. Like what that looks like.
What Brothel Work Really Involves
Nosy Neighbor.Interesting. So you show up at the bunny ranch at the time. I mean, that has to be an eye-opening experience. What was your sexual past leading up to that? And what was it like going from you know, regular, more conventional dating to something like working at a brothel?
Deena VeloraThat's actually that's so funny you say that because as soon as I got to Bunny, they're like, you know, who are you? Basically, like, what's your background? They're like, have you stripped? I'm like, no. They're like, Do you like escort in New York? I'm like, no. I mean, I have like a couple sugar daddies. So they're asking all these questions and they're like, well, like, I don't get it. Like, why are you here? Because I don't have the typical background, I guess. I had thought it's gotta be like sleeping with a guy on the first date. That's what I thought it would be like. But there's so much more to it because there's so many girls in the house. Also, it's like a business that's being run. So that's there's like regulations, policies, house rules, some drama to deal with. It was it was very different from what I expected, definitely.
Nosy Neighbor.Once you got there, did you have a chance to meet with Alice?
Deena VeloraI did see her around the house, and she was very nice and very helpful. She gave me a lot of really good tips that I still use today. Like she warned me that that banks are gonna discriminate. So no matter what I feel I can afford, whether it's a house or whatever else, what I need to be prepared for is that some banks are not gonna give me loans. Some of them are gonna close my accounts once they find out where my money's coming from. And that was like mind-blowing. I hadn't considered that before. Like that was years ago that she said that.
Nosy Neighbor. And one of the things that interests me about when you reached out to coming on is we've had a few courtesans before. And like you had said earlier, this was, you know, they ask you questions like, do you escort? Do you and one of the things that surprised me about you in looking into you was a lot of the girls have like only fans or they have a porn past, where you, I mean, to be frank, you're the first guest that I've had on here that I haven't seen naked somewhere because most of the girls have photos and stuff like that everywhere where your photos, even for the cat house now, is very anonymous, kind of. You can't see your full face. It it's more you're being more discreet to protect yourself, I assume. Do you ever feel like you're I don't want to say the oddball, but without that past, do you feel like you're a little bit different breed for this job?
Deena VeloraNo, I'm not a different breed. I don't know. I feel like hoes are born, you know. You either have like hoe blood or you don't. I don't feel like I'm a different breed at all. I uh we all do it different, you know. Maybe how I'm doing it is different, but I'm not different from any of the girls that I work with. So the reason that I that I'm more conservative is because I'm just naturally more conservative. And it does it feels out of character to be like really naked. Even on the floor, I feel too naked if I'm in lingerie. You know, like I just want to be authentic to who I am so I can feel comfortable. And the the clients that I see, they don't mind because they're a lot of them are so afraid of women that if I were talking to them in lingerie, they'd probably have a heart attack anyway. So nobody minds. Definitely not my clients.
Discretion And A Conservative Style
Nosy Neighbor. That's one of the things that I think sets you apart, is one of the things that you do is focus on confidence coaching. It reminded me a little bit of the movie Hitch, starring uh Will Smith, where he he helps bumbling clients get better at talking and dating women. Tell us a little bit about what got you focused in that aspect of the Corison versus just the more sexuality of it.
Deena VeloraYeah, that was new for me, but the clients were coming to me uh before I even had the bio that I have now. I was getting clients who uh, like I said, I'd be like more fully clothed on the floor for lineups, even. You know, I wear like kind of a long dress, but spaghetti straps, so I'm not totally covered. Clients would choose me. Then we'd get in my room and they'd tell me all these things they're facing, like the fear that they're facing when it comes to women and their struggles, and like they'll tell me their whole background, their whole sexual background. And it just sort of became a pattern for me. They wanted to talk more than anything else. I thought that was interesting, and so I just thought like maybe there's something to this, maybe I need to be spending more time with them to listen and understand. Like they were even telling me like medical issues they were having, and I just kind of felt like a therapist. Before that, before I started at Alien, I just knew guys that had money, and they're not trying to talk about their problems, they want to go have fun and just buy me things, but this was different, you know. And then with the conventions, I noticed there there was a correlation. So I'd be like, okay, well, there's this convention happening and this type of client that's been showing up all week. So, like, what's like what is their background? And and um there's guys typically, I want to say like late 20s to early 30s, who've spent so much time working on their careers that they haven't had the chance to date and get really experienced at dating. And so they've only been with one or two women, it didn't work out, and they don't know why, and they just don't have the time to date 20 women, they just want to woman what they're doing wrong so they can suggest.
Nosy Neighbor. And I think that's one of the things that's important to understand about being a courtesan. I think a lot of times when you hear the word courtesan or working in a brothel, it is well, guys like to fuck women, and so that's what they go for, and they go and look for the woman and fuck her. But there's a lot of, I mean, and there is that element, I'm sure, but it in talking to others, it sounds like there's a whole other element that gets overlooked. There's an emotional, whether it's someone that just doesn't have the confidence like you talked about, or just has an injury that slows them down and just doesn't allow them to get dates. There's a whole other aspect that I think we overlook and and and don't think of that go to these things where it's an emotional connection, it's not just I'm looking to fuck someone just to fuck them, tailoring yourself to that aspect while at the same time doing the others too, but realizing that wanting a connection goes a lot deeper sometimes than just having sex.
Deena VeloraI mean, some of the stuff they come in for, for me at least, can be embarrassing. And um, like the one guy who was having the medical issue. So now that he's through that medical issue, he's trying to like make sure before he's with a girl he actually likes and knows and doesn't want to be embarrassed in front of, he wants to make sure that he can perform. So he determined that he's gonna come to me every month until he's he feels confident that he can perform well with this girlfriend he has. And he, I mean, how embarrassing is that to have to tell a stranger, you know. But I I make it to where they can trust me. I'm never gonna tell their business, I'm not gonna name names.
The Velora Method Role Play
Nosy Neighbor. And so not only do you do the brothel work, but that has gotten you to branch out and you have what's called the Valora method. Tell us a little bit about that.
Deena VeloraOh, yeah, that's that's new as well. The idea came when a recent client came in wanting to know how to approach women, and this was part of his booking. So I'm like, what do you mean? Like uh, like at a bar? So so we role-played at the bar in the parlor at Alien Cat House, and I told him what to say and what not to say, and how much distance to have, because the thing with him is he can't even sit with a woman for even like five minutes. So I'm like, all right, so then maybe you just say one or two sentences to her, and then you head out, you know, and you leave her your number. So we role-played exactly how he was gonna do that. And and he's so sweet. I mean, God bless him, so sweet and just so afraid in so many ways. And and then I had a few others just like him. So I thought maybe breaking down these lessons into separate lessons or giving them the ability to call me with a question, you know, they might appreciate that, and they do.
Nosy Neighbor. As an outsider, I would have assumed that having the confidence or the courage to go into a brothel and meet with a woman would have to take a lot of courage because not everyone can can do that. What do you think separates that kind of courage to be able to do? I mean, just to go to see you and to go to something because of the stigmas and all that stuff associated with that. What makes you what makes them have the confidence to do that, yet not be able to translate that confidence in just to everyday women?
Deena VeloraBecause coming into the brothel took them months or sometimes years to do. And they don't want to take months or years to approach a girl who's, you know, 20 feet away from them. And they're, you know, so they're trying to trying to close that gap, I guess. One of the guys, because I just got back yesterday, so the week I was there, one of the guys told me that it took him two years to come in, and all he got was a massage. And he was like afraid, even during the massage. He couldn't relax, he was he was nonstop, like over talking because of his nerves. And all he did was get a 15-minute massage, and that took two years for him to do.
Nosy Neighbor. Why is it do you think? I mean, is are you it sounds like you're doing a little bit of therapy work along with your courtesan work? But why is it that you see some of these successful men, these businessmen that are successful? And I know you're seeing other people too, but what does it make to have like a successful businessman be successful in life and yet not translate that to women? What do you think is the the hurdle or the biggest kind of hiccup that they have where they can they can run Sax Fifth Avenue and be successful there? But yet when it talks comes to talking just to a woman, they're not able to.
Deena VeloraI mean, women can be intimidating, and and I get that. I think we just as women, we just have so many good qualities that can kind of work against us. Like it's like all the good qualities that make the men nervous, you know? And maybe because like business is action-oriented, work is action-oriented, and men were born for action. Whereas women, it's not so much like you have to be so much more gentle in your approach with women and careful as well. Business, maybe you're being more aggressive, less careful, you're taking risks. So it might be that they're having to switch gears and they just don't know how to do that. Maybe they've tried, but oh, there was one guy who said he's coming across too aggressive, and he wanted help learning how to approach women in a way that was not creepy. So I thought that was interesting.
Nosy Neighbor. Is there one thing as a woman you're you're Sitting here hearing these stories and and everything, is there one thing that I don't want to say it's irrational or you know, because it's if they believe it, then it it is true. But is there one kind of underlying theme whereas a woman you're just like to some extent without putting down any clients or anything like that, that just seems silly to you? Because I'm sure women have their own fears, they have their own insecurities too. So is there anything one in particular that you wish men could realize that would kind of open that door to being more successful with a woman?
Deena VeloraYeah, yeah. I think it's silly that they think they're doing anything wrong. Because a lot of I would even, I mean, I want to say like every single one of my clients who thought they were doing something wrong, they were so sweet. I never would have thought that they thought that something was wrong with their personality because the second they came in, they would be very sweet to the staff and very generous with tipping them, and even the way they would speak to me was so respectful and so sweet, and they were funny. Then they would tell me, you know, I need help with my personality, I don't know how to talk to women, and I would just think right away, like, oh, that's so silly. How could he have that belief? That's what I think is the silliest belief they have.
Why Successful Men Freeze Up
Nosy Neighbor. Now, you don't do the courtesanship full time, so playing devil's advocate and kind of turning the tables on you, you deal with a lot of people that have insecurities or feel like they're not able to hold relationships. Without going too deep into your personal life, what is your dating life outside of of you know working at the ranches?
Deena VeloraI had been engaged up until last fall.
Nosy Neighbor.Yeah.
Deena VeloraUm, last October. And I broke it off because I knew he was not gonna let me do this work if we got married. So that's where I'm at. I just I want to be able to work and feel like I have freedom. And if by chance I come across a guy who's completely okay with that and will not interrupt that or intervene in any way, then that's okay. You know, I would be open to that.
Nosy Neighbor. And do you go on casual dates? Are you able to put yourself out there or do some of the hangups that these men have, does that apply to you as well because of the line of work that you do, or are you able to separate that and and just be you?
Deena VeloraI mean, have you seen the apps lately and the what like the dating apps and all that lately?
Nosy Neighbor.Yeah, that's one of the reasons I don't haven't dated in years.
Deena VeloraThey've gotten weird. Wouldn't you think?
Nosy Neighbor. It's it's a very different dating world than it was 10, 15, 20 years ago.
Deena VeloraYes, exactly. Yeah, I I try, like I think it was hinge. I'm like, okay, let's see what this hinge is about. I go on one day, the guy is faking a British accent. I'm like, this guy has got to be kidding me. And then the accent would change a little. It would become like a little Australian in some parts. But then when he would say the word New York, he would use a New York accent. So I'm like, who am I like out with right now? This is ridiculous. And he wouldn't take no for an answer. I cut the date a little short because he was sort of creeping me out. And he wanted to come home with me and would not take no for an answer. I had to tell him no in like three different ways. I said, no, I've got to go walk my dogs. He said he'd come walk, he'd walk them with me. I'm like, no, listen, you know, my place, it's a mess. He tells me, I think I've seen worse. It's fine. That was just so uncomfortable that I haven't really tried again since then. And that was maybe, I don't know, six months ago.
Dating Apps And Personal Boundaries
Nosy Neighbor. Now, hearing in some of the men that you're you're dealing with, you know, you've these powerful businessmen, they've come in and for the most part, they've been nothing but kind. How has doing this and doing the kind of mentoring and seeing? I mean, you've had the bad examples, like you mentioned that guy, but you see a lot of different types of men that you're helping to become a mentor to in many ways. How has that changed your view of men overall or hasn't it?
Deena VeloraChanged my view. I mean, I know that there's good guys out there, so it hasn't changed my view. I do see them as really good guys who just who just need to like embody that. They have to know that they're there's plenty of women out there hoping and wishing they meet a good guy. So there's hope for them.
Nosy Neighbor. So I would assume it's it's easy to become jaded after a while if you have so many certain clients that are just looking for sex, but it sounds like your focus is a lot more focused on the average guy that needs the confidence boost.
Deena VeloraYeah, the confidence boost and advice about women from a woman. Because when guys don't really know where to turn for advice, they pick up artists or Andrew Tate, my god, and and then they start getting complaints from women that they're being too aggressive or they're being creepy because that is not good advice. I think the best advice about women is gonna come from a woman, and so they they get that tailored approach that only a woman can give them, and it it does seem to work. I I do feel that helping men be respectful to women instead of teaching them like manipulation, I think it does help. It it helps everyone. Um, it especially helps women when men are being taught the right way to treat women, you know.
Better Advice Than Pickup Culture
Nosy Neighbor.Working at the Alien Cat House now, what would you recommend a first-time person that's listening to this wanting to meet with you? You know, what should their expectations be or how should they what's the best way to approach you?
Deena VeloraThe best way to approach, I mean, do what feels comfortable for you. Some guys have known that they came to see me, but they'll still do a bar call just because like they're a little nervous, you know, and they they just need some time, they want to see how it all works and stuff. Others have known that they're here to see me, but they'll tell our staff they just want to sit at the bar. So they have a couple drinks because they're nervous, and then they'll see me pass by, and then they're like, Okay, yeah, she's real, she looks like her photos, and then that's when they book. So it's like it's different. Others have like they'll call and they'll leave a deposit, others email. There's plenty of ways, just whatever's comfortable for you. And you said malsexuality versus intimacy. Well, there's not many ways to learn that if it's something that you need to learn. Because you could go to like a sex therapist, but a sex therapist isn't gonna get undressed and show you like exactly how to do it, you know? And and a lot of times that's what guys see when they really don't know, they really need someone to like get naked and show them. So that so the cat house is a very unique place where you can learn things that that almost kind of seem clinical in a way. It's not just at least for me, it's I'm not just there like hooking up with people every hour. It's like a clinical, but it's a very educational process that sometimes will take two or three hours.
Nosy Neighbor.Wow. Have you thought about doing branching out not only for the the Valora method or working at the brothel, but have you thought about writing a book or doing something that kind of blends the two, where you don't necessarily have to have sex with the person, but that allows you because it it sounds like your your niche and your enjoyment isn't the sexual aspect, as well. I mean, there's that element, but unlike a lot of the girls that have OnlyFans that are always posting on Twitter and social media, you know, naked pictures, it sounds like your the mentality that really draws you is that aspect of working with people. Have you thought about other avenues like a book, like a podcast of your own to kind of talk about these things, not just appearing in one episode like this, which we appreciate, but kind of having your own voice and platform out there outside of the ranch?
Deena VeloraGosh, I don't know. I'm open to ideas. If you have any good ideas for me, I am definitely open-minded. I just sometimes I just don't even know. Like, where would I begin, you know?
Nosy Neighbor.I mean, I think it's um for what you're talking about, and you know, having your own podcast would be a nice little thing to talk about, you know, the things that you're experiencing because it sounds, and like I said, what drew me to you when you approached us was like I said, you're the first guest that I haven't seen naked, and that's just because so much of this industry relies on posting on Twitter, you know, just sitting here naked at the at the beach, or just sitting in bed naked, or here's my OnlyFans. And when you approached us, I went looking for you just to find you know information on you. And I'm like, I haven't seen a photo of her naked. I mean, there's one shot, I think, in the the cat house thing, but for the most part, your sexuality or the way you present your sexuality uh is a lot different than the other girls, and I'm not saying that's right or wrong or anything like that, but it's just it was noticeable given the line of work that the others are doing to not have that made you kind of stand out and be a little different. And so I just wonder if something like a podcast where you're able to talk and have like a weekly idea or a weekly topic would be something that would be beneficial, but in the same way, it puts yourself out there for others to hear, and like I've always said, if one person comes in and says, I heard you on you know this podcast, I think to me that's a success because it means someone heard your story and heard about you and said she's interesting, I want to go see her. So I think you'd be great at a podcast just where you could choose your own topics and not just appear in one episode, but to have several episodes, much like Alice Little. You know, Alice Little does a lot of like YouTube videos and stuff like that. Um, but I think your approach and your niche is a little bit different than than Alice's that would make it an interesting kind of comparison and dynamic.
Deena VeloraYeah, I think you're right. Um I'd have to like look into it. I don't I don't know anything about podcasts.
Nosy Neighbor.Do you find yourself, I mean, is there a lot of pressure to create an OnlyFans, to go on social media and be naked? Is there a lot of, you know, because you're up against other women that are trying to get the same, you know, clientele when they come in, or are you happy with your niche? You're happy with the amount of exposure you have on, you know, online. Is that is that is that enough for you where you say I don't need to follow the other path of the other girls with their accounts and OnlyFans and stuff like that?
Deena VeloraYou don't feel pressure, no. We're also that's not really the environment that we're in at Alien. We're not like super competitive like that with each other. We sort of work as a team, we have really good communication, we're very supportive of each other, and every I just see all the girls, they do what they do so different and unique from the next girl that we're just all kind of doing what works for us.
Stigma Misconceptions And Future Plans
Nosy Neighbor. And you had mentioned before that one of the things that Alice had taught you was like banks will you know close your accounts, and there's a lot of judgment and there's a lot of stigma. And now that you've been at two ranches, what do you think is the biggest overreaction or biggest, you know, someone might come in and said, I've thought about coming into a brothel, but I was scared about this or that. What is kind of the biggest misnomer that you've now that you've been at two ranches that you think people should know or understand?
Deena VeloraLike the biggest misconception. I mean, I don't think it's just brothels, but like sex work in general, the sex industry, I think I guess I haven't really experienced it. I'm trying to think of a time that I've like seen the discrimination. I I my experience has been like so far for I guess a couple decades now. I just see that people find it interesting and fascinating. I was with one of the girls recently. We were in Vegas in an Uber, and the guy was listening so closely to what we were saying, because we were telling each other stories about this client and that client, and he was listening so closely, and that's just been my experience is that it's a really interesting world. And when when civilians make contact with that world, they have a lot of fun and they end up leaving with stories to tell. So I haven't really seen like the discrimination yet.
Nosy Neighbor. Now you said that you know you come and go, you live in California. What does the future hold for you? Are you looking at other ranches the next time you come back around? Or what is your what does the future hold for you?
Deena VeloraWell, you brought up a few really good ideas that I'm gonna look into now. So, you know, only time will tell, but the podcast thing that that seemed like a nice idea. You had mentioned a book. I don't know what I would write about, but I guess a book is always a good idea. I did just finish my bachelor's, which took forever. It took me all my life to finish. So I may do more schooling. I guess we'll see. I'll let you know.
Nosy Neighbor. There you go. I'll expect my cut of the podcast in the future. Now, wrapping up, and I appreciate you coming on. It's been a real nice treat. It's it's always interesting because we've had other girls, and as much as you kind of pigeonhole someone in, you know, I work at a brothel, you kind of just lump everyone into the same thing. But one of the nice things that has happened is everyone is so different. You know, Alice Little has her her raises farm animals, and others have dreams and hopes and other aspirations. It's not just I come here to fuck. And I think that's what a lot of people kind of think of when they hear that thing.
Guidance For Women Considering Brothels
Nosy Neighbor. But my final question, and again, I appreciate you coming on, but you said years ago you read an article that Alice Little wrote, and today you're on this podcast, and if there was out there a young Dina Valora listening to this podcast, much like you read the Alice Little article, what would you want this young Dina Valora to take away from hearing your story?
Deena VeloraI mean, it depends on how young. Not speaking to minors when I say this, any girls 18 and up, I will say, you know, like seize the moment, honestly, because you're only 18 once. Actually, I think the girls at the brothels have to be 21, I'm pretty sure. So any girls 21 and up, even 21, you're only 21 once in your life, and your 20s are gonna pass you by. Youth is everything for women, and and make the time count, make it count for something. If you're drawn to this industry, there's no better time to look into it. Just basically, in other words, don't overthink it. If it's something you think you want to do, especially with the brothels, they're safe. It's not the kind of thing you're gonna have to think about for too long or plan out extensively. It's safe, it's regulated. You're nothing's gonna happen to you if you go. So it's just a matter of deciding is this something I want to try out? And the commitment is two weeks. So it and you're gonna have a blast, by the way. You'll have the time of your life. If it's the kind of thing that you're drawn to, I would say, I would say you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by trying. Just try it out and see. Be safe, be smart.
Nosy Neighbor. And I think one of the things that I've learned from just even talking to you is there's not a one size fits all for working in a brothel that you can have your own identity where some are there and they'll fully admit they're there because they love sex, they love posting naked pictures, they love, you know, just fucking, and they'll be upfront and honest and saying, that's what I'm here for, that's what I love. Um, I'm sure you love sex as well, but also you like to focus on helping others find confidence. And so don't necessarily sell yourself out to fit a mold that you think you need to fit. Working in a brothel can have, I mean, yes, there is that sexual element, but you can also stay true to yourself at the same time and don't try to be something that you're not and and fit that mold that you think you need to fit. It sounds like you made your own path that uh allows you to be successful there as well.
Deena VeloraYeah, definitely. I actually, now that I'm thinking about it, someone who's young and considering working at a brothel, I will say actually, it's important to say that it's not for everyone. I actually should have started with that. It's not for everyone, and if you don't like really have it in you, no matter what age you are, if you don't have it in you, you're gonna experience it different than how the rest of us girls experience it. It's gonna be harder on the mind and the body for you, and you're gonna have a lot of complaints if it's not for you. And and you may continue because the money is good or whatever, but it's gonna be hard on you and you're gonna have a lot of complaints.
Nosy Neighbor. So do your research, I guess. I mean anything in life, do your research. And are you open? I mean, I know that you have programs where men can pay to have chats with you, but if someone does, like you said, you reached out to Alice Little yourself when you're looking into this. Do you welcome those kind of correspondences as well? If someone wants to is thinking about this and just wants to reach out to you, ask you a question. Is that something that you're open to?
Deena VeloraOr yeah, I'm open to that.
Nosy Neighbor.Perfect. Well, Dina Valora, thank you so much for coming on. Uh, it's been very insightful for me to and hopefully others to hear different perspectives. Like I said, one doesn't, you know, one there isn't just the Alice Little way. And I think when people hear that, you know, you've had different cortisone or courtesans on the podcast, they're like, well, what's the difference? And I think you're showing us why we have different people on, is because everyone has their own story, everyone has their own path. And so I appreciate you coming on and sharing your story with us.
Deena VeloraThank you for having me.
